Desperate or Content

Imagine your neighborhood, all the houses you walk by in comfort knowing where you are. Imagine the neighbors that you know, and the others you don't- but it's always safe there.

Now imagine that the houses you walk by are tainted with a certain sorrow, a certain fear, that what is hidden within them could judge whether you survive or not. Imagine that every neighbor you knew is spattered with the blood of your fellow neighbors, and possibly their own family. Imagine them, but where? Where are they hiding, and is it safe to simply walk past their houses- or will they spring at you from within or around them?

Imagine where you would go.
Where would you sleep, even if you lay awake with the horrific images already seen?
Who would you take with you- are they even alive?
Can you adapt to this torturous world, or will you die out like many have before you?

Will you survive?
Or will you live?
